With the help of Creative Environments, luxury residential construction company Toll Brothers garnered multiple awards at The Nationals 2019, the National Association of Home Builders’ largest and most prestigious competition. Specifically, Creative Environments, an innovative landscape architecture and design company based in Tempe, Ariz., designed and constructed two residential yards that won the coveted Gold Awards in the Best Landscape Design and Best Outdoor Living Space categories. The homes are located, respectively, in Toll Brothers’ Whitewing and Verde River communities.
The Pradera model in Toll Brothers at Whitewing, a new neighborhood of luxury homes in Gilbert, Ariz., received the Gold Award for Best Landscape Design. In designing the home’s yard, Creative Environments was challenged to create an outdoor space that would be fun, family-friendly and ideal for entertaining — yet also upscale and aesthetically beautiful. The finished product fulfills all of these needs, striking a balance between luxury, function and comfort. The outdoor environment features a stunning resort-style pool lined with boldly striped cabanas, which provide seating areas and shade from the warm desert sun. The pool has a trendy Baja shelf, a wide ledge that allows swimmers to cool off in the water without being fully submerged.
Creative Environments equipped the Pradera’s outdoor space with several other living areas that the home’s residents and guests can enjoy year-round. For example, the patio features a cooking alcove and spacious dining area, which are paved with a warmly hued red brick that creates an inviting vibe. There is also a charming “she shed” that was designed to match the home’s modern-ranch style. In addition to Best Landscape Design, the Pradera won the Gold Award for Best Interior Merchandising of a Model Priced $850,000 to $1 Million, due to its interior design by Scottsdale-based Est Est, Inc.
Based upon the criteria of creativity, concept, and the impact of furniture and accessories, the Gold Award for Best Outdoor Living Space was granted to the Rio Verde model in Toll Brothers at Verde River, an exclusive community of only 35 homes on spacious lots. Creative Environments developed the home’s awe-inspiring outdoor space in conjunction with Calif.- based CDC Design. Ideal for entertaining, a seamless transition between the indoors and outdoors is a defining theme of the Rio Verde model’s design. For instance, there is a fire pit situated just outside of the home’s “man cave,” allowing the festivities to easily be carried into the open air. The home’s great room gives way to an outdoor living room, which provides a comfortable spot to relax while enjoying breathtaking views of the infinity-edge pool and the surrounding golf course and mountain peaks. The master suite leads to a conversation area and a well-equipped outdoor kitchen and dining space sheltered under a gazebo. With its beautiful and functional outdoor living spaces, the Rio Verde model offers several opportunities to make the most of the home’s stunning desert setting.
