John Waters, Owner

John Waters has over 20 years of experience in strategic business development. He sets standards for growth and measured performance, productivity and profitability to ensure long term success and stability for employees and clients. Prior to joining Creative Environments, Mr. Waters helped market and develop investment groups, and also partnered and successfully built an asset recovery firm from local to national accounts with GECAP, Ford, Toyota Motor, Nissan, Yamaha, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and many others. After starting in 1991, his real estate business achieved recognition for the 16th largest (in size and revenue) out of more than 6,000 Century 21 Offices in the country, and was #1 in Arizona. It was sold in 1996. Mr. Waters built a successful Technology Training division for CBSI as a VP and Partner, and later sold interest to Sentinel Technologies who purchased the company in 1998. Mr. Waters holds business degree from ASU.

Dan Waters, Owner

Dan Waters has more than 20 years of design and landscape construction that began with Hammond Landscape. He started as a laborer in the field, learning all aspects of the landscaping business from the ground up. He has hands on training with small, medium and heavy equipment, extensive training in hydraulics, irrigation, plumbing and PVC piping. Mr. Waters assisted in propagating over 20,000 South American variety cacti and transplanted over 1,500 native giant saguaro in the first ever volume nursery. He helped grow and cultivate over 15,000 golden barrel cacti over a two-year period. Mr. Waters also trained and mentored over 100 landscape designers and landscape architects in Phoenix design. He co-founded and helped to build Creative Environments from $800,000 in gross production to over $21 million in just nine years. Mr. Waters designed and built the current CAD design system and style used on over 4,000 custom residential designs a year. Mr. Waters' design work has been featured in numerous publications, newspapers and magazines. He has been recognized locally and nationally for many award winning designs, and received national awards for pool and spa design in 1999, 2000 and 2001. He has also received local awards for "Landscape Design and Construction" in 2000 and 2001, and in 1998, 1999 and 2000, he received awards for "Landscape Design and Build" competition while competing against over 500 licensed contractors. In 2002, he served as a judge at the International Pool Design Awards for NSPI. He judged architects and landscape architects in pool/spa design and construction in 2003. Other works include the design of a project that earned People's Choice Award in 2001 for Street of Dreams; designed and built largest single custom residential project; design and development of all exterior of model parks for Edmunds-Toll Brothers; development of infrastructure and common areas in Jackson Properties, Ashland Ranch Community; and many more.

Chuck Hammond, Owner

Chuck Hammond has over 30 years of design and landscape construction, which started with his family in 1950. After attending Northern Arizona University, majoring in advertising and marketing, Chuck returned home to Phoenix to continue his mentorship under Chuck Hammond, Sr. As a youth, Chuck worked in all phases of the family business as a laborer, warranty person, foreman, superintendent, and as a design consultant. When Chuck's father became ill, he took over the operations of the family business for a couple of years. Later, Dan Waters joined as a partner, and they purchased the company. Mr. Hammond is involved in many major projects, but the ones that stand out are some of the model complexes for some of the leading home builders in the valley: Del Webb, Pulte, Fulton Homes, Richmond American, Monterey Homes, Edmunds, Jackson Properties, Engle, Camelot Homes, US Homes and Beazer Homes, to name a few. His faith and passion for helping others to be successful in the company is the main reason he believes that he is successful in this industry. He devotes a considerable amount of time and money to helping others.

Tom Baird, Owner

Tom Baird has over 20 years of sales, half of which is in home sales and real estate and the other half in design and landscape sales and management. Mr. Baird holds a degree in Business Management. Prior to joining Creative Environments, he helped build several successful real estate sales teams on the East Coast. At Creative Environments he helped build a solid landscaping sales team using his vast experience in the sales process. He currently oversees the design and construction of all the major projects, and also assists other designers with complex jobs..

Jerry Dervin, Chief Financial Officer

Jerry Dervin was named Chief Financial Officer in August 2006. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Dervin was with the Apollo Group, Inc. from 1997 to 2006 as Vice President of Finance. At Apollo Group, Mr. Dervin was an integral member of the executive management team within its consulting subsidiary. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Dervin was the general manager and co-owner of Charlie Rose Baseball, which operated several specialty retail stores in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Prior to this, he was at KPMG, Peat Marwick in the capacity of an auditor. Mr. Dervin graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in both Accounting and Finance, obtained a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Western International University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Mike Scheetz, Vice President of Operations

Mike Scheetz was named Vice President of Operations in July of 2007. Mr. Scheetz comes to Creative Environments with over 20 years of homebuilding experience with both publicly and privately held companies. Mr. Scheetz has held numerous positions within the industry, including, but not limited to: Superintendent, Customer Service Representative, Sales Counselor, Project Manager, Purchasing Manager, Vice President of Operations, Executive VP of Operations and Division President. Mr. Scheetz graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and is a native Arizonan.
